Gateway Of India Hotel


The India Gate is a monument of Mumbai (formerly Bombay), India. The hotel is situated directly on the waterfront in Apollo Bunder area in South Mumbai, the Gateway is a basalt arch 26 meters (85 feet) high. It was a spring materials used by the people and the fishing was then renewed and is valid as the landing site of the British governors and other distinguished persons employed. At the beginning of the bridge was the monument which the guests were using the boat for the first time in the city of Bombay.
Its design is a combination of both Hindu and Muslim architectural styles, the arc is Muslim, while the decoration is a Hindu. The bridge is built in yellow basalt and reinforced concrete. The stone was obtained locally, and perforated screens were brought from Gwalior.

The central dome is 15 meters (49 feet) in diameter and 26 meters (85 feet) above the ground is greatest. Before the entire port realigned to go with a promenade, which extends below the center line. The construction costs were RS 21 lakhs (2.1 million), mainly by the Government of India. Due to lack of funds, the road was never built, the bridge is converted to an angle on the Road.
